'Fashion Police' News, Update: Melissa Rivers Joins Host Panel

E! finally confirmed this week that Melissa Rivers is now joining the host panel of the network's popular celebrity fashion critique show "Fashion Police."

The daughter of the late comedian Joan Rivers has served as the show's executive producer since it began in 2010 and will now be sitting alongside hosts Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski in a six-episode installment which premieres Aug. 31.

"As an executive producer since the beginning, Melissa helped shape 'Fashion Police' into an iconic TV series that couples fashion with comedy," says Jeff Olde, Executive Vice President of Programming and Development at E!

"We are pleased to now also feature Melissa in front of the 'Fashion Police' cameras, as she joins returning panelists Giuliana and Brad. And with the added flavor of rotating panelists, the show will deliver fresh, different and unpredictable fashion reviews with each new episode," he continued.

River's on-screen involvement was reported earlier last week in a report from Radar Online. The publication cited their sources saying that "Melissa is going to host the show."

"No one understands the show more than she does and this is what her mother would want," the source said.

"She now sees it as part of her mother's legacy to see that the show survives," an insider told Radar. "Many think that the show is not salvageable. But Melissa is trying to convince the network that all will be great again if she becomes one of the hosts."
