'Fate of the Furious': The Rock Reveals New Poster for Upcoming Film

"The Fate of the Furious," the eighth film in the "Fast and the Furious" franchise, is set to hit cinemas next month. Ahead of its release, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has unveiled a poster for the movie, getting fans even more thrilled for the upcoming movie.

The actor unveiled the poster in a Twitter post referencing the plot of "The Fate of the Furious," in which Dom (Vin Diesel) goes rogue and his former team is compelled to track him down. "Never give up on family, but if they try and kill you... hunt em down, slap em around and make em pay. Fun time," wrote Johnson in the caption.

The upcoming film is the first "Fast and the Furious" film without Paul Walker, who died a tragic death after meeting a car crash while "Furious 7" was in production. Through the help of his brothers who stood in for him, filming for the film was completed. In memory of Walker, the seventh "Fast and Furious" film came with an emotional send-off for the actor and his character.

The synopsis for "The Fate of the Furious" reads:

"Now that Dom and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) are on their honeymoon and Brian (Walker) and Mia (Jordana Brewster) have retired from the game — and the rest of the crew has been exonerated — the globetrotting team has found a semblance of a normal life. But when a mysterious woman (Charlize Theron) seduces Dom into the world of crime he can't seem to escape and a betrayal of those closest to him, they will face trials that will test them as never before."

Meanwhile, industry analysts predict that "The Fate of the Furious" will earn less than what "Fast and Furious 7" earned on its opening weekend. "Furious 7" earned $147 million on its opening weekend, allegedly because of its highly controversial production brought by the death of Walker.

"The Fate of the Furious" hits theaters on April 14.
