Fergie Baby Name: Axl Jack Duhamel Inspired By Guns N' Roses?

Fergie and her husband Josh Duhamel recently welcomed the birth of their son Axl Jack Duhamel and reports claim to have unveiled what exactly inspired the unique moniker.

The Black Eyed Peas singer, whose real name is Stacy Ann Ferguson, reportedly gave birth to her first child via C-section in Los Angeles on Thursday. A source claims Axl Jack was inspired by Fergie's favorite band, Guns N' Roses, which is famously fronted by Axl Rose.

"Fergie is a huge Guns N' Roses fan - one of her career highlights has been performing and recording with Slash - so Axl makes perfect sense," a source close to the singer told Us Weekly magazine.

Baby Axl Jack Duhamel reportedly weighed in at 7 lbs, 10 oz and both mother and son are believed to be doing well.

Fergie, 38, who married Duhamel, 40, in 2009, gushed about her love for Guns N' Roses shortly after her lavish wedding.

"Some of my biggest vocal idols are rock and roll. I mean Sebastian Bach, Vince Neil, Axl Rose, Robert Plant. These are people that I have emulated vocally," Fergie said in 2010. "I saw Gun 'N Roses and Metallica when I was in high school. I have been a fan of theirs for years."

Fergie recently expressed her excitement about becoming a first time mom during an interview with "Good Morning America."

"We're thrilled! I know that my husband told everybody what I said. My quote when we found out [was] 'This s--- just got real,'" Fergie joked to ABC's Lara Spencer ahead of the birth.

"But it's true, when that moment occurs to you, there's going to be a human being growing inside of you … it's reality," she continued. "It's amazing, we're thrilled."

Duhamel, who proposed to Fergie after three years of dating in 2007, opened up about fatherhood in February. The actor is said to be in awe of his newborn son.

"It's very exciting … [It's] unlike anything you've ever seen. You're like, 'Wow, it's mine,'" Duhamel told People about becoming a father.
