'Final Fantasy 15' News: PC Players Will Help Determine How Much Support for Mods Developers Provide

Devs will first observe how PC players react to mods before they introduce any other modding tools

With "Final Fantasy 15" now heading to the PC, developers are giving fans the freedom to play around with the things inside this game through the use of mods.

At this point, developers have already hinted at how much mod support they intend to provide initially.

Speaking recently to GameSpot, director Hajime Tabata confirmed that he and the other developers are looking to provide players with a level editor they can then use to make their own missions.

From there, it will be up to the players to determine how much more support they will get from the developers.

According to Tabata, they will first sit back and observe just how PC players are reacting to the mods that will be included in the upcoming "Windows Edition" of "Final Fantasy 15."

They will then react to what they see, and Tabata hinted that they may provide some other tools beyond just the level editor to make it even easier for PC players to come up with their own mods.

Tabata also shared his hope that players will utilize the mods available to them "in good taste," and whether or not they do so could determine if developers continue to provide more tools or perhaps stop making them available.

Notably, while speaking earlier to PC Gamer, Tabata indicated that if mods "are taken a little too far" then that could affect what happens with other "Final Fantasy" games.

Essentially, there is a pretty good chance that what players decide to do with the mods included in the "Windows Edition" will go a long way towards determining if future "Final Fantasy" titles give players as much freedom.

PC players will have the opportunity to tinker around with the world occupied by Noctis and his friends as soon as the "Windows Edition" of "Final Fantasy 15" is released early next year.
