'Finding Dory' Release Date Rumors: Sequel Movie Coming in 2016, Voice Characters Revealed

A sequel to the 2003 movie "Finding Nemo" has finally been scheduled to come next year. After 12 years, "Finding Dory" is set to be released on June 2016 starring the voice of TV host Ellen DeGeneres who year after year never failed to score on when the next "Finding Nemo" will come, according to reports.

The talk show host and comedian did a good job on keeping the details of the production under wraps since it has already been announced that the official trailer for the animated movie is to be revealed in the D23 Expo, the largest Disney fan event in the world. It will take place this Aug. 14 in Anaheim, California, with several fans expected to join in the fanfare.

Showrunners and voice talents of "Finding Dory" will be present at the panel discussion to talk about their upcoming movie which is scheduled to be released to the theaters on June 17, 2016. As described in the website of D23, the event "will include surprise announcements, musical performances, and appearances by the films' star voice talent."

Aside from Degeneres, other talented new actors who are going to be part of the movie include Kaitlin Olson as an adoptive killer whale sister, Ty Burrell as the beluga whale Bailey, and Diane Keaton and Eugene Levy as Dory's parents Jenny and Charles. Voice actors from the first movie will also join the sequel like Albert Brooks as Nemo's dad, Vicki Lewi as Deb and Willem Dafoe as Gill. Actors Idris Elba and Dominic West are also reported to be joining the cast although their characters are not revealed yet.

According to Coming Soon, the plot of the story will happen a year after the first film. Marlin, Nemo and the Tank Gang will also be featured in the movie. The story is set along the California coastline and welcomes new characters with some who will prove to be a very essential part of Dory's life.
