'Finding Dory' Characters Unveiled, New Voice Cast Includes Idris Elba, Diane Keaton

The premiere date of the American 3D computer-animated comedy adventure sequel "Finding Dory" is quickly approaching. Many are looking forward to watch what happens next in the lives of the characters from the first film "Finding Nemo."

And to bring the excitement up among fans who waited 13 years for a part two, Disney-Pixar has unveiled the returning and new characters of the film along with the full storyline and the voice cast. According to a report by ABC News, "Finding Dory" director Andrew Stanton said that the upcoming follow-up will be "a whole new chapter."

"We're introducing new characters—each with his or her own unique voice," said Stanton in a statement. "Everyone has something special to offer, which makes it fun and elevates the whole story. 'Finding Nemo' was a great calling card when it came to casting this movie. I don't take that for granted," he continued.

The movie will follow Dory, voiced by Ellen DeGeneres, as she searches for her parents with the help of her friends, Nemo and Marlin, voiced by Hayden Rolence and Albert Brooks respectively. As noted in US Weekly, other characters returning include Crush, the chill sea turtle, which will be voiced by Stanton himself and his adorable son Squirt, voiced by Bennet Dammann. Mr. Ray, Nemo's sting ray teacher from the reef, will also be back and will have Bob Peterson to voice him.

Along the way, new characters will be introduced and the most anticipated are Jenny and Charlie, Dory's parents, voiced by Diane Keaton and Eugene Levy respectively. The official Facebook page of the movie described the two as parents who would do anything for their memory-challenged daughter. Other new characters that fans will meet include kooky loon Becky (Torbin Bullock), sea lions Fluke (Idris Elba) and Rudder (Dominic West), beluga Bailey (Ty Burrell), whale shark Destiny (Kaitlin Olson), octopus Hank (Ed O'Neill) and the otters.
