There are many applications available on the Android market that are Easter themed, including colorful eggs and bunnies, however, there are none that focus on what happened to Jesus Christ, according to Christian media company, HCJB Global Sweden.

For those looking to follow Jesus' footsteps throughout Easter week, the Swedish company hopes to fill that void with its new Live with Christ app now available for free in the Google Play store.

Live with Christ provides the user with a new way to read the Bible that allows them to experience the Easter story in real time.

"With the app on your phone, you follow Jesus for a week by reading the Bible texts as they are notified just in time as it could have been that week almost two thousand years ago," the company has announced.

The app takes you through the conflicts Jesus faced in the run-up to his crucifixion and resurrection concluding with the Easter story.

"His death and resurrection gives a better understanding for what Jesus has done for us," said HCJB Global Sweden. "The app helps you keep focus on Jesus during Easter week, to show God's love for you."

The company's goal is to provide Android users with an application that focuses more on the biblical aspect of Easter rather than the commercial side of the holiday that is made up of magical rabbits and colorful eggs.

It also wants to make reading the Bible more accessible and enticing by creating a reading plan that coincides accurately with the holy week.

"I have tested the app several times during the development phase and I think it is a very nice way to approach the Easter message," said Sture Nordquist, chairman of the HCJB Global Sweden board. "Reading short passages often is an easy way to follow a long story."
