Forest Whitaker's Wife Keisha Appears Gaunt, Sparks Concern

Keisha Nash Whitaker, the wife of actor Forest Whitaker, appeared drastically thinner than ever before during an event for the Academy Awards over the weekend.

Over the past few years, Whitaker has posed beside her actor husband of 18 years appearing happy and healthy, but Keisha's most recent appearance has stirred concerns. On Saturday, the 42-year-old wife of the "Black Nativity" star donned an ill-fitting black dress that accentuated her bone-thin arms at the 2014 Film Independent Spirit Awards at Santa Monica Beach.

It is estimated that Whitaker may have lost well over 35 pounds, reported RadarOnline. According to the author of "The Hamptons Diet," Dr. Fred Pescatore, extreme weight loss could lead to problems such as heart disease.

"She is most likely about 110 pounds now but was 135 just a few years ago," he observed of Whitaker, according to the celebrity gossip website. "Or even she could be down to 105 pounds from 140 pounds."

Although Dr. Pescatore has not treated Whitaker, the author and health expert shed light on the dangers of extreme weight loss.

"She runs the risk of premature aging of her heart and bones," he said. "Most importantly, going up and down like this wreaks havoc on the metabolism and makes it increasingly difficult to continue to stay thin without more and more effort. Possibly to the point of [using] starvation and pills."

On Twitter, readers vocalized their reaction to Keisha's skeletal appearance, with many worried. One person tweeted about Keisha's "painfully thin figure" while another described the look as "scary."

Despite the apparent weight loss, Whitaker uses her own Twitter account to frequently share information about the food she eats.

"A Pizza store in Burbank who took my order and didn't deliver don't worry (2hours late) Micellis to the RESCUE and it will TASTE good," she wrote last month.

Then, the following week, Whitaker posted, "Snickers, Tacos and Fallon wow Sweet Dreams!!!"
