Free Super Bowl Tickets Won by Christian Rap Artist (VIDEO)

New York Christian Rap artist Joseph "Minista Whisper" Dowdy has won free Super Bowl tickets.

Dowdy won the Jingle Dreams contest presented by American Family Insurance, and will now be going to Indianapolis with his wife to see the New York Giants take on the New England Patriots next week.

According to the Syracuse.com about 500 contestants entered the competition to win the dream tickets, with each submitting a video. Viewers then voted for their favorite, and the winners were eventually chosen by a panel of judges made up of actress Chandra Currelley, singer Natalie Grant and London Fletcher, a linebacker for the Washington Redskins.

Dowdy's video showed scenes from his neighborhood and he raps about his dreams for his family; to show his 11 children that they can make it good in this world.

Dowdy and his wife are youth ministers at the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Syracuse, where he runs Miracles Ministries.

He takes on the persona of "Minista Whisper," to create Christian rap songs, and he has released a number of Christian rap albums.

His video caught the eye of voters and judges and earned him an all-expenses paid weekend trip to Indianapolis on Feb. 3-5, and also includes the chance to take part in the Super Bowl Gospel celebration, where he will perform with the NFL Players Choir, which is a group of 30 current and former NFL players.

Super Bowl tickets this year started from face value of $900, but the best seats can cost a lot more than that. Limited tickets for fans from each team sold out immediately with a draw being held to see who were the lucky season ticket fans to be given the chance to purchase tickets at face value. For the unlucky ones, tickets can be bought from ticket brokers, but can cost anywhere between $2,500 to $16,000.
