'Frozen 2' News: Release Date, Start of Production, bizarre Twist in Storyline, Kirsten Bell reveals

Kirsten Bell "let it go" when sharing exciting news about the highly anticipated sequel to "Frozen" and talked about why it took so long for an official announcement of the second installment. Disney only made the announcement for the second installment last year. And a week ago, Bell, who voices Anna on the much-loved Disney animation, told Collider that "Frozen 2" was about to begin production. While they had not started recording their lines, the script was being polished. The actress believed they would start recording this month. She also shared that the work was of a quality she would associate with the team who put it out.

She told Collider, "What I know about that whole team is that they wouldn't just put something out to put it out. That's why it took them so long to even announce that we were doing a second one. Generally when you have a first successful movie you want to make a second one. It took them a while because they wanted to figure out what story they needed to tell and what would be important and engaging and I think they found it."

Regarding the songs, rumors had it that "Frozen 2" would stick to "Let It Go" from the first film as its theme, although the song-makers, Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, have come up with great songs. But Bell expressed to E! Online that nothing could top the original anthem.

She says, "Nothing should top that. Even when I hear it, hearing it as many times, as I have, every time I hear it, it gives me the tingles. I think there's going to be a lot of great songs in the next movie but I don't know if any of them will top 'Let It Go.'"

While production may have started on the film, the animation would take a while.

On another note, a bizarre twist in the storyline for the sequel has been rumored, ignited by comments the director, Chris Buck, had made at a Reddit AMA when asked where the King and Queen, Anna's and Elsa's parents, had planned to go when they were shipwrecked. The director hinted that Tarzan may be the two princesses' brother, as the monarchs had not died in the wreck but washed up on an island jungle, but got killed by a leopard. The Queen had given birth earlier, on the boat, to a baby boy.

Many wondered if Buck had only been leading people astray so fans do not get too near the real story. But Buck later makes a clarification on MTV that, in his mind, "Frozen 2" was as tied up with "Tarzan" as it was with "Surf's Up" (a non-Disney film involving penguins).

Still, Buck declared, "I say, whatever people want to believe, go for it. If you want to tie them all together, then do it. That's the spirit of Disney."

The film will be released in 2018.
