The Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE model on Verizon now has access to the official Android 4.4, KitKat update, according to sources.

The software started rolling out for the Wi-Fi only models last week. Now it seems that 3G and LTE models will finally get a taste of the chocolaty treat. This update will also arrive in stages.

It brings several new features including wireless printing support, full screen album, new camera shortcut, white status bar icons, enhanced sound controls, default home, SMS apps and stability improvements. Users can check for the update in the Settings menu.

Samsung unveiled the new version of the tablet during the company's unpacked event last year where the Galaxy Note 3 was also introduced.

"Last year's launch of the Galaxy Note 10.1 introduced the integration of S PenTM capabilities to the tablet category and created a new experience for consumers," said Travis Merrill, vice president of tablet marketing at Samsung Electronics America. "We continue to evolve the Galaxy Note experience with the new Note 10.1-2014 Edition. With premium software features and a sophisticated design, we're delivering an exceptional and even more engaging tablet experience."

The new device follows up last year's Galaxy Note 10.1 and features more impressive specs than its predecessor. It will come with a similar design to the new Galaxy Note 3 with stitching on the backing that is made from a different type of plastic.
