Galaxy Tab S2 vs. iPad Air 2: The Battle of the Same Screen Size Tablet

The rivalry between Samsung and Apple just never seems to cease. And with the release of the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 early this year, the competition has moved to the tablet side as it is placed head to head with the iPad Air 2.

According to Tablet PC Review, the two devices are similar when it comes to the size and price ranges. Both tablets carry a 9.7-inch display screen and ever since Samsung switched to a 4:3 screen aspect ratio, they now look the same in terms of shape. But the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 is smaller compared to the iPad Air 2. Specifically, the Tab S2 9.7 is 9.3 x 6.7 x 0.22 inches while the Air 2 is 9.4 x 6.6 x 0.24 inches, making the Apple product just a little bit taller and wider.

The Tab S2 9.7 is also lighter compared to the Air 2 with the former weighing only 0.86 pounds and the latter just 0.96 pounds. The Air 2 is sturdier though, according to the source, because it is made with aluminum while the Samsung tablet comes with a plastic casing.
