'Game of Thrones' Season 5 Finale News, Spoilers: Promo Images Cause Countless Speculations
There's only about a handful of days left before the massively-popular TV adaptation of George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire," "Game of Thrones," will end its current fifth season.
And while fans are still reeling over the shocking and mind-blowing events of the past two episodes, HBO released a handful of promo images for this week's upcoming finale segment titled "Mother's Mercy."
Among the photos that made online is a picture of Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) kneeling in front of the High Sparrow. Speculations from various media outlets indicated that Cersei might finally be submitting herself into the justice of the old gods. It was previously said that the only way for her to get out of prison is to confess and repent for her sins. Could this be the moment that fans will see her much-anticipated "walk of shame?"
In Essos, Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen), Daario (Michiel Huisman), and Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) are found sitting at the steps of Daenery's (Emilia Clarke) throne. They looked quite a bit worried, most probably for their queen.
In Castle Black, Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) is shown discussing with Samwell Tarly (John Bradley-West). Could this discussion be about the fate of the remaining Wildlings who happen to cross the icy Wall?
Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane) on the other hand, looks quite a bit downcast probably over his shocking decision to offer his poor daughter to the will of Melisandre's (Carice van Houten) God of Light.
Meanwhile, the synopsis for the episode titled "Mother's Mercy" says that "Stannis marches. Dany is surrounded by strangers. Cersei (Lena Headey) seeks forgiveness. Jon is challenged."
"Game of Thrones" Season 5 finale airs this Sunday, June 14, at 9 p.m. on HBO.
