'Game of Thrones' Season 5 Spoilers News: Cersei Nude Scene Banned? Production Crew Faces Challenge

The "Game of Thrones" production team has met some interference in their current shooting location in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

The said site is to be where Cersei Lannister (Lena Heady) will do her "Walk of Penance" in the Stradun street between the Dubrovnik Cathedral and the Sponza Palace. However, the Croatian Film Commission, strongly backed by local church officials, is having second thoughts about the scene being shot, TMZ reported.

The matriarch's nude scene is said to be pivotal in the development of the plot. It will be in context following the slow demise of the Lannister family in King's Landing. Based on the book, Cersei will frame Margaery Tyrell (played in the TV show by Natalie Dormer) but her plans backfired. She now finds herself jailed by the head of the Faith of the Seven. Prior to the trial, the Queen Regent is set to perform the naked penance walk that runs from the Great Sept to the Red Keep.

Speculations now rise on to how the GOT production team could bring the scene to life without violating the commission/church's conditions.

One site said that they could actually push the envelope by paying substantial amount of money so that they would consider making a "one-time exception." Other solutions that are suggested is to make the 40-year-old "300" star wear pasties and near-to-nude underwear. Subtle camera angles and post-production tweaks can also do the magic or they could just pack up and find another location to shoot, they added.

For now, there's still no official statement released with regards to the film production issue.

HBO's massively-popular TV show adaptation of George R. R. Martin's fantasy novel series "A Song of Ice and Fire," "Game of Thrones" was renewed for Seasons 5 and 6. According to sources, the upcoming installments will now be basing its story from Martin's "A Feast for Crows" and "A Dance with Dragons," the 4th and 5th books of the series.

Filming for the fifth season already began in July 2014 in Belfast, according to Variety.

"Game of Thrones" season 5 is slated to return on HBO this coming Spring of 2015.
