Garth Brooks, Tricia Yearwood Announce A Move to Nashville

Country music super couple Garth Brooks and Tricia Yearwood are leaving their Oklahoma home to move back to Nashville, Tennessee, Yearwood announced this week.

Yearwood and Brooks married in 2005 in Oklahoma where they have primarily resided with Brooks' children from a previous marriage. However, the youngest child is heading to college this fall, prompting the couple to prepare for a move.

"It's been the right thing to be at home, but Garth and I both feel like the job of being home every day and going to every soccer practice, that job is coming to an end for us. And so it's time for us to do the next thing," Yearwood told CMT recently. "And we're excited for whatever's next for us."

The 49-year-old singer recalled the years spent in Oklahoma with fondness, reassuring herself that the friends made in the Sooner state would always be in her life. Moreover, Yearwood shed light on the lifestyle of musicians, and that home is anywhere that is near Brooks.

"Garth and I have always sort of been gypsies," the singer explained to CMT recently. "If you do this for a living, home for us is really just where we are together."

As for their next move, Yearwood admitted her love for Nashville, even through the years of difficult commuting obligations.

"There's an energy about Nashville that I love and I miss and it's so awesome right now," the singer told CMT. It has a new energy that's so cool and it makes sense because it's been a bit of a challenge to not live there and to have to fly in and out for work."

Meanwhile, the "She's in Love with the Boy" singer is not the only celebrity to declare a love for Nashville in recent months. The star on the hit television series "Nashville," Hayden Panettiere, recently revealed her attraction to Music City.

"I like being in a place where people appreciate the little things and don't need a lot of stuff to be happy," the starlet told Southern Living of Nashville earlier this year. "At my core, this is the kind of person I am and want to be."

The New York native first bought a home in Nashville after landing the role of Juliette Barnes on ABC's hit drama set in the city; but the actress plans on staying for good.

"Living in Nashville gives me a sense of normalcy that I wasn't sure I was ever going to get back in my life," Panettiere explained, before revealing that she and fiancé Wladimir Klitschko are planting permanent roots in the illustrious city.
