Gene Simmons has reportedly said that he is not happy with the choice for having Madonna perform at the Super Bowl this season.

Simmons has told TMZ that he wants real singers to perform at the NFL main event, implying that Madonna cannot sing her songs live.

Simmons said, “I love all karaoke singers, I love all the girl singers who get up and sing with tapes ... shame on you!” According to TMZ.

He added: "By the way, Madonna's terrific ... I hate the tapes."

Simmons is one of the most outspoken members of controversial band KISS.

Just last month Simmons gave his opinion on fellow rock bank Guns N’ Roses saying: “Guns N' Roses could have been the best band in the world, and the reason they're not is because of Axl Rose.

“I mean, the drugs, the heroin, the alcohol and all that. But ultimately, it falls on Axl's shoulders.”

He added, "A good beating would have helped. I mean, when you misbehaved as a little kid and continued to do it, there was somebody there to give you a what for. Then when you become a grown-up, who's there to set you straight?"

It was announced recently that Madonna would perform at this season's Super Bowl center-piece:
