George Clooney News: Actor Calls Fabricated Interview a 'Disturbing Trend'

Following the release of an "exclusive interview" that tackles George Clooney's private life with his wife Amal, the actor has called the stint a "disturbing trend."

Clooney recently told Entertainment Tonight that he finds the said fabricated interview really alarming since he did not have the interview and the quotes were "inaccurate." The famous actor went on to slam other outlets including Vanity Fair, Marie Claire, The Sun, and The Evening Standard, for picking up on the story released originally by Hello! Magazine.

"In my experience, being misquoted is not unusual, but to have an 'exclusive interview' completely fabricated is something new and a very disturbing trend," he said.

In the since deleted article, Clooney is said to have created a rule between him and his wife. They can never be away from each other for a week and when they are apart, they stay connected through social media.

It turns out that the quotes, and probably most of the things written in the article in question are false. Hello has removed the article from its website and has also issued an apology to the actor and his human rights lawyer wife.

The company said in its statement that the interview had been bought from Famous and they trusted that the quotes and everything else therein were straight from the "Gravity" actor.

This is not the first time Clooney slammed an outlet for its erroneous reports. In 2014, he rejected the apology of The Daily Mail after the British newspaper published an online story about his then fiancée's mom allegedly going against Amal's marriage to the actor because he is not Druze - the religious faith that Amal's mom practices.

According to CBC News, Clooney did his homework and found his way to an article from the newspaper wherein it acknowledged the religious stand of Amal's mother. He then said the outlet only creates its own stories that damage the knowledge of readers and other publications that reprint its articles.
