George Zimmerman has suffered another blow to his defense claims in the case involving slain teenager Trayvon Martin, as results from Forensic tests show that his is the only DNA that could be identified on the grip of the gun which killed Martin.

The 28-year-old, who is currently in hiding as he awaits his second-degree murder trial, admitted to killing Martin, who was 17 at the time of death, but claimed that it was self defense after Martin allegedly reached for his gun in an attempt to kill him first.

The test results, which were made public on Wednesday, ruled out Martin's DNA from being on the gun's grip. Zimmerman's DNA was also identified as being on the gun's holster, according to the Associated Press.

The results go against Zimmerman's claims that Martin reached for his gun and instead they support the Martin family's theory that Zimmerman, who is Hispanic, profiled their African-American son before murdering him outside of a gated community on the night of February 26, 2012, in Sanford, Florida.

The recent finding follows a string of inconsistencies on Zimmerman's part, the most widely publicized being misrepresentations that both he and his 25-year-old wife Shellie made before the court in May.

Seminole County Circuit Court Judge Kenneth Lester Jr. ordered Zimmerman back to jail in June after previously releasing him on $15,000 bond in April after it was discovered that both he and Shellie falsely represented their finances and lied about other factors in an attempt to deceive the court.

In a motion filed by prosecutors they state that Zimmerman "misrepresented, misled and deceived the court" about a number of factors during his first bond hearing in April.

The discovery led to Zimmerman being placed back in custody and Shellie being slapped with a Perjury charge.

Benjamin Crump, who represents the Martin family, spoke about Zimmerman's bond being revoked during a Press conference and stated that Zimmerman's lies and deception is a reflection of his credibility.

The case has sparked national debates on race and various celebrities including Spike Lee and Al Sharpton initially called for nationwide rallies to protest after police failed to arrest Zimmerman immediately after Martin's killing. Zimmerman was eventually arrested two months after the killing when Special Prosecutor Angela Corey was able to review the case and establish the appropriate charges.

If convicted on the second-degree murder charge, Zimmerman faces up to life in prison over the killing of Martin.
