Germany will play Algeria on Monday in a big World Cup 2014 Last 16 game. The game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. ET and can be watched on TV on the ESPN network or online through free live stream (details below).

In team news for Germany, striker Lukas Podolski is likely to be out with a thigh injury he suffered in the team's final group game against the USA.

There is history between these two teams, and the media have in some areas been building this up as a grudge revenge match. In the World Cup 32 years ago, Algeria defeated West Germany 2-1 in a group game, but still went out at the group stage after West Germany and Austria seemingly played out a mutually beneficial 1-0 win for West Germany that saw both those teams progress at Algeria's expense.

That game has become known as the 'Disgrace of Gijon' and Algerian coach Vahid Halilhodzic has indicated that the current team are using that game as motivation for today's match up with Germany.

"We have not forgotten about it," he said. "Everyone talks about Algeria and Germany from 1982."

However, midfielder Nabil Bentaleb. Has said, "We have to make our own history and we have to write our own page. Now it's a new story."

Germany coach Joachim Low has said on the matter: "I find it irritating when I read that this is a match about vengeance. Why should players who weren't even born then want revenge? Maybe some on the other side want to make an issue out of it to motivate Algeria."

However, he did say, "The Algerians have proven that they are an uncomfortable rival. Anyone who thinks that an easy opponent is waiting for us in the next round is making an enormous mistake."
