Users on Twitter have been declaring God's love, sending the phrase "God Loves You" onto the social media network's Trends list Wednesday.
Twitter's Trend list tracks the 10 most tweeted words or phrases, and the phrase "God Loves You" appeared on the list early Wednesday afternoon.
Users reminded their friends and families that "God Loves You" and to stay encouraged throughout the week.
"Even when you sin God is great enough to forgive us and bring something good out of the bad that WE put ourselves in. #GODLOVESYOU," wrote Miriam Ojeda.
"#GODLOVESYOU should allways be trending(:," Jenna said.
Hart Ramsey said, "#GODLOVESYOU when others are disappointed in you & you've let yourself down. He's already planned your comeback. Get w/HIM!"
“#GODLOVESYOU is trending! :) IN the end that is all that matters, God's love, mercy, and grace for us," said Miss Rita.
"Faith is keeping our spirits up when circumstances are down #GODLOVESYOU," the Global Aid Network wrote.
Some Twitter users employed the trending topic "God Loves You" as a chance to show support for Troy Davis, who faces execution Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. EST.
"Since god love you is trending I'm gonna tweet about Troy Davis on it. Lol," Kevin BeatDown Brown said.
"GOD LOVES YOU? If that's the case get him/her to share some love with Troy Davis. Take action at http://bit.ly/pIxsi6 It's not too late!" AFTAQ wrote.
Lila Lewis offered encouragement for Davis by tweeting, "God loves you Troy Davis!"
The Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles ruled Sept. 20 to move forward with Davis' execution, despite not having any physical evidence tying him to the 1989 killing of Mark Allen MacPhail, an off-duty Savannah police officer.
Since the trial, seven of the nine witnesses who testified against Davis have recanted their testimonies.
Davis' legal team made a last-minute attempt Wednesday morning to appeal his execution.
