Android Marshmallow Release Date News: Updates Will Officially Roll Out Next Week
Google's Android 6.0 OS, or better known as Android Mashmallow, was first announced at Google's I/O developer conference back in May. The new Android OS was not officially named as Marshmallow at that time, and was still called Android M.
As part of the Google Nexus launch, the search engine giant has also announced its plans to start sending over-the-air updates for Android 6.0 for Android smartphones. The upcoming update is now scheduled to be released next week to its first batch of Android users.
Google's new Nexus devices, the LG Nexus 5X and the Huawei Nexus 6P, were the first smartphones that received the brand-new Android OS.

The new Android Marshmallow might not be a major update on the surface, but Google has made a number of interesting changes to the Android operating system. These new changes and tweaks will make it easier for anyone to use any Android device.
The latest Android version will now sport a new permissions system for apps. With this, the app will now ask users for permissions on what they want to allow the app to access, instead of asking permissions all at once during installation.
Google will also introduce a new and smart battery-saving mode, which is called "Doze" mode. "Doze" will put the device to sleep when it is left for a long time, which will allow extended battery life. According to the company, the new Nexus devices with Android 6.0 will see an increase battery life up to 30 percent.
Another feature that Google will introduce on its new Android OS is the "Now on Tap" feature. With this feature, users can know more about any information that is now being accessed on the device. For example, if a user is watching a music video on YouTube, pressing the Home button will allow "Now on Tap" to pop up on the screen, and it will provide more information about the video and the artist.
The new Android Marshmallow will also include a new app drawer, a built-in fingerprint scanner support, and a number of tweaks to the smartphone's system that handles storage and memory.
