Google Nexus 5: Specs, Features and Price Review

Google has successfully delivered an impressive smartphone at half the price of other devices from other brands with the Nexus 5. This LG-manufactured Android phone features a lot of improvements over the Nexus 4. It has also been updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop, which completely redesigned the Nexus 5's interface and gave the phone other features, such as a battery saver mode.

Design:
The Nexus 5 measures 5.43 x 2.72 x 0.34 inches and weighs 4.6 ounces. It has a rubberized housing and rounded edges which makes it very comfortable to hold. It doesn't offer much variety when it comes to colors though, as the device is only available in black or white.

The left side of the phone holds the volume rocker switch, and the top left edge houses the headphone jack, while the right side is where the Power button is located. Below the Power button is the microSD SIM slot, while the bottom edge holds the microphone and the mono speaker.

Feature:
The full HD IPS screen has a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and is made of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Colors and images are sharp and vivid, even compared to pictures viewed on an AMOLED display. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, has 2 GB RAM and has a built in storage of 32GB.

The device has two cameras—a rear 8MP camera, and a 1.3MP front-facing camera. The phone has several camera modes such as the Photo Sphere, Panorama, Lens Blur, Camera and Video modes.

As for the phone's 2300 mAh battery, it can give one 14 hours and 40 minutes of talk time on a single charge and 12.5 days stand by time. The battery is non-removable, but the Nexus 5 supports wireless charging out of the box.

The Google Nexus 5 costs $399 off contract.
