Nexus 6 vs iPhone 6 Plus Review: Comparison of Specs, Features

It's a battle of the phablets as we pit two of the most popular smartphones of the year—the Google Nexus 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus—against each other.

Apple and Google have both done splendid work as both phones have seen their share of fans exhorting the benefits of owning either handset, but which one is better and worth the price?

Design:
Google partnered with Motorola to make the Nexus 6, and as a result, the smartphone has taken its design cues from the Motorola Moto X. The device has an aluminum frame, front-facing speakers, and a camera at the center of the phone's back. It's available in Cloud White and Midnight Blue.

In contrast, the iPhone 6 Plus shares the same premium feel as its predecessors. Compared to the Nexus 6 which weighs 6.49 ounces, it's lighter at 4.55 ounces. The iPhone 6 Plus is available in silver, gold, and space gray.

Features:
The Nexus 6's display wins for its size as it measures 6 inches diagonally. It has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 and pixel density of 493ppi. It's also more durable as it has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 to protect it and is water resistant. The iPhone 6 Plus' display is a bit smaller at 5.5 inches and has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

The iPhone 6 Plus has a 1.4 GHz dual core 64-bit A8 processor, while the Nexus 6 is powered by a Snapdragon 805 processor and 3GB of RAM.

The Nexus 6 comes with internal storage in either 32GB or 64GB, while the iPhone 6 is available in 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB variants.

As for the phones' cameras, the Nexus 6 has a rear-facing 13 MP camera that has an optical image stabilization feature and can record 4K video at 30fps and a 2.1 MP front camera. The iPhone 6 Plus features an 8MP iSight camera with Focus pixels.

Price:
The Nexus 6 unlocked version costs $650 while the iPhone 6 Plus costs $849.
