'Gotham' Season 1 Spoilers, Cast News: Fish Mooney Leaving, Lucius Fox Introduced

Latest "Gotham" Season 1 cast news pointed out the character Fish Mooney to exit in the upcoming second season of the show and one essential Batman character to be introduced in an upcoming episode.

A report from website Daily Mail indicated that Jada Pinkett-Smith won't be returning to play the fan-favorite mobster character when the second season of the popular crime-fighting TV show hits the small screen.

Speaking with the hosts of Live! With Kelly and Michael on Friday, Will Smith's wife said that despite the soaring TV ratings of Gotham, it would be unlikely that her Fish Mooney will come back.

"I signed for a year and the year's up," the 43-year-old actress explained.

It was also found out during the interview that Fish Mooney was specifically created for the introductory season of the TV adaptation and that it can't be found in the Batman comic book canon.

She adds that she had contributed a lot of creative input in the development of the fearless gangster.

Revealing further, Smith teases the fans that the current ongoing season will take its bow with a bang.

"There are some great things coming ahead on Gotham, believe you me," she said. "There's a lot of good stuff coming."

Speaking of surprises, yet another character is heading towards the show.

A report from Screen Rant cited Deadline saying that "12 Years A Slave" actor Chris Chalk is joining the growing cast list of Gotham.

Chalk will play the Wayne Enterprises tech genius, and sometimes a confidant to the Dark Knight, Lucius Fox.

As stated, Fox will be introduced in episode 21 of Season 1 and will also return for season 2.

"Gotham" Season 1 returns on air with a yet untitled segment on April 13, 2015 on FOX.
