'Gotham' Season 4 Spoilers: Bruce and Selina to Clash

It may be the end of Bruce (David Mazouz) and Selina's (Camren Bicondova) friendship in the upcoming season premiere of "Gotham."

According to TV Guide, Bruce's new mission as "Batman" will put a wedge on his otherwise smooth relationship with Selina. It looks like his determination to become the city's number one vigilante will cause problems in his inner circle. Selina is one of Bruce's closest friends. Aside from the ever loyal Alfred (Sean Pertwee), the Wayne heir has formed very few connections. Losing Selina will likely be a huge setback for him, but with his attention mostly focused now on embracing his other persona, Bruce will just shrug it off and move on.

As for Selina, she has her own future to look forward to. Her journey as Catwoman has already began. Soon, viewers will get to see her and Bruce facing each other as Batman and Catwoman. As fans of the series know, the two characters share a love-hate relationship. This storyline will likely be brought into the FOX series as well.

Meanwhile, other storylines to look forward to is the arrival of the famed Batman villain, Dr. Jonathan Crane, aka Scarecrow. The promo showed Jim (Ben McKenzie) and the Gotham City Police Department scrambling to arrest the criminal who has the ability to make people hallucinate with just a spray.

Elsewhere, spoilers indicate that the premiere episode titled "Pax Penguina" will see Penguin's (Robin Lord Taylor) struggles as he tries to recapture his throne as the number one villain in the underworld. Operating from his new headquarters, Iceberg Lounge, Penguin will soon find out that legalizing crime in Gotham will not be as easy as he thought it would be. Viewers are also waiting for the moment he meets his former friend, Nygma (Cory Michael Smith), again. Speculations are rife that the Riddler will try to get revenge and prove that he is the better villain between the two of them.

"Gotham" season 4 will premiere on Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox.
