Grammy 2016 News: Kendrick Lamar, Taylor Swift, The Weeknd In A Tight Race For The Top Plum
The biggest gathering of talents from the music industry is all set to happen on Feb. 15 as the Grammy's will hand out gold gramophone trophies once more to artists who have made an impact in last year's music scene.
According to Billboard, Kendrick Lamar leads the roster of nominees as he garnered 11 nominations from the award-giving body. Meanwhile, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd share the second spot as both artists find themselves vying for seven awards each.
Apart from the stellar list of nominees, another thing that makes the Grammy's a looked-forward-to perennial TV event is the performances of its guests from different music genre.

According to US Weekly, this year will surely be loaded with entertaining musical performances like that of Adele, who, despite her album "25" being ineligible for a Grammy this year, still said yes for a performance in the coming awards night.
Other big names in the music industry that are set to charge up the event with their musical performances include Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Chris Stapleton, Gary Clark Jr. and Bonnie Raitt. Diplo, Skrillex and Justin Bieber will also be performing. The Hollywood Vampires (which is composed of Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp and Joe Perry), Pitbull, Robin Thicke, Travis Barker, James Bay, Andra Day, Ellie Goulding, Sam Hunt, Tori Kelly, and Carrie Underwood have also been confirmed to showcase their respective musical artistry in the event.
Kendrick Lamar and The Weeknd were some of the first to confirm their performances for Grammy's 2016.
The Grammy's will also feature a live performance from the cast of Hamilton, which will air live via satellite from the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York. The awards night will take place in Staples Center in Loas Angeles, California.
USA Today has reported that Taylor Swift will open the show with one of the songs from her "1989" album, which is a contender for the Album of the Year award.
Meanwhile, Billboard reported in a separate article that, in an interview with Radio Disney, singer-songwriter James Bay had said that Swift winning over Lamar for the Album of the Year award should not come as a surprise.
"It's a great album and she has had an enormous year -- an enormous two years. It would be entirely deserved," he allegedly said.
