Gran Turismo 7 Coming to Playstation 4 in 2015 or 2016

Gran Turismo 7, the seventh main installment to the hyper-realistic driving simulator game by Polyphony Digital, has been given a release date by its creator Kazunori Yamauchi. Apparently, the highly popular racing sim will be released on the Playstation 4 in 2015 or 2016.

Yamauchi spoke exclusively with GamesTM to speak about how fans will be getting a much better final product in the Playstation 4 compared to Gran Turismo 6 in the Playstation 3.

"Everything will be running naturally. PS3 was much, much more difficult. The high quality of data that we have being rendered on the PS4 I think is going to make an incredible difference," he says.

Gran Turismo 7 will be the first title in the franchise to make the current-gen Sony console.

"For GT7, myself and my staff have a clear vision: to do everything we couldn't do in GT6," he says, regarding the title's release on the Playstation 4. "We want to make it very Gran Turismo. By that I mean it's going to be a game that matches the very era that we live in, in 2015 or 2016."

The wait isn't going to be as painful as it was with Gran Turismo 5 but at least fans are assured of a year when the game is coming out – albeit being a vague one.

The Gran Turismo series of racing sim games is one of the best in Sony's exclusive Playstation franchises and has been hailed by fans as the best racing simulator game. It's also known for its incredible roster of cars. Gran Turismo 6 boasts a staggering 1,226 cars in the game as well as 100 tracks both inspired by real-life racing tracks and created by the developers themselves.
