'Grey's Anatomy' Season 12 Spoilers, Plot News: April and Amy to Break Up?

Surprises galore in Season 12 of Grey's Anatomy. Romance seems to be the buzzword for this season. Callie and Arizona are rushing into love, but with newer characters we have not seen before.

"They're going to both be dating women," Grey's Anatomy executive producer Shonda Rhimes said. "I do want to honour the fact that Callie is bisexual, and we've established that she's dated guys. But in terms of where she's going now, she's going to be dating a woman."

What will Maggie be doing in Season 12?

Maggie will continue to be homeless and will be staying in Ellis' house.

"I can tell you straight up that Maggie has a home," declares portrayer Kelly McCreary. "Remember how we never saw last season where Maggie lives? Now she lives with Amelia and Meredith in Ellis' house, which is super cool. There will definitely be some conflict, but of the hilarious variety as opposed to the sisters-pulling-each-other's-hair-out variety. You can expect some 'clashes of the titans' going on."

McCreary has also hinted that Maggie's love life is going to be spiced up.

The Season 11 finale had Jackson giving April the ultimatum that if she was to continue hermilitary work in Jordan then he wouldn't be there for her when she returned home. April asks her husband, "If I go, then we're done? You're calling it?"

Does this confirm their split? Shonda Rhimes had revealed Season 12 will have April (Sarah Drew) making the decision to return to the Army instead of staying in Seattle with Jackson (Jesse Williams). Fans of the popular on-screen couple have been questioning their relationship ever since.

"They are in a difficult spot now," Rhimes said. "April's really changed and she's really done this thing that's not necessarily the best thing for their marriage and Jackson's not happy about it. Does that mean it's over? And does she accept that it's over?"

But Rhimes has promised to keep Season 12 peppered with romance and comic relief to set off the emotional content.
