'Grey's Anatomy' Season 12 Spoilers: Fans Rooting For Maggie, Andrew Relationship; 'Young & Restless' Star Set To Join Cast

ABC's hit medical drama TV series "Grey's Anatomy" is currently on a break. However, new reports emerged this week pointing out to some of the exciting aspects that fans need to look out for when the show returns to the small screen next year.

Citing the report from Design & Trend, it appears that Season 12B will reveal more details on the relationship between Kelly McCreary's Maggie and Giacomo Gianniotti's Andrew.

The speculation emerged when the two actors were seen posting photos of themselves on the show's official social media account.

One image particularly featured the aforementioned actors who seem to be staring into space.

Succeeding snapshots revealed some intimate moments between Maggie and Andrew .

Followers of the series were quick to point out how adorable the characters are and that they couldn't wait to see what would happen in their relationship come 2016.

In her recent interview, McCreary revealed that Andrew's introduction into Maggie's life ultimately changed her.

"She is so neurotic about this stuff, and it's really, really fun to see what happens when she relaxes into the relationship," she said, as written in the Design & Trend report.

Making the show's second half even more exciting is the casting news that arrived over the weekend.

According to SoapShows.com, the network has tapped actor Scott Elrod for a recurring role.

As detailed further by the media outlet, the "Young and Restless" star will be donning some scrubs as he joins the ranks of the good doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.

However, it is yet to be known as to when Elrod's character will be introduced. Regardless of which, this won't be the first time that the 40-year-old appeared in a Shonda drama. Fans may remember the "Home Run" actor guesting in one of the episodes of ABC's hit legal drama series "How to Get Away With Murder."

"Grey's Anatomy" Season 12 is slated to return on air Feb. 11 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
