Titled "The Sound of Silence," the midseason premiere will have a patient causing severe injuries to the show's main character.

However, the reason for the patient's attack was not yet revealed. According to Kevin McKidd's character, Owen, the patient was postictal, which means that the patient just had a seizure. In this state, there is a tendency for individuals to experience hyper-aggression.

The video also shows Richard, played by James Pickens Jr., revealing that the attacker may not even remember attacking Meredith since it happened during a state of temporary fugue. Nevertheless, fans are still wondering if there is more to the attack.

Nevertheless, Pickens also opened up about his insight regarding the tragic accident during an interview with E! News. He explained that the premiere will focus on helping Meredith. He stated, "[The attack] makes us realize how much of a family Seattle Grace really is and how in times of trauma and times of turmoil, how you come together for the common good. In this case, it's saving [Meredith's] life basically."

With that, fans can expect the different characters to do their best to help Meredith recover from the attack.

"Grey's Anatomy" season 12 episode 9, titled "The Sound of Silence," is expected to air on ABC this Feb. 11.
