'Grey's Anatomy' Season 13 Air Date, News and Spoilers: Alex Jailed, Will Stand on Trial for 13.02!

Although ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" is already 13 seasons in, it still never fails to surprise its avid viewers. The new episode, "Undo", picked up right where "Grey's Anatomy" Season 12 left off: Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) and Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone) just got married, and Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) gets a frantic call from Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington).

"Grey's Anatomy" 13.01: What went down

In "Grey's Anatomy" 13.01, everybody decided to ditch the bouquet when they found out that Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) basically walloped Andrew DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti). Alex accidentally walked in on Andrew putting a drunken Jo to bed and jumped to the wrong conclusion. The beating was so bad that Andrew was sent to the hospital.

Jo, the face that launched a thousand punches, went to the hospital to check on Andrew and Alex. But the latter adamantly refused to listen to her, his foregone conclusion already a truth to his mind. Their distrust for each other bubbled up to the surface as Alex basically laid it out in the open: Jo isn't able to commit to him fully. It wasn't completely lost on them just how many similar fights they've both had to settle because they're constantly misunderstanding each other.

Alex Jailed

More than his issues with Jo, Alex is understandably worried about the consequences of his mistake and is left to handle two things, one much more difficult than the other. The first is to make sure Andrew is alive; the second is to convince him not to tell on him.

Grey, on the other hand, spent almost the entire "Grey's Anatomy" 13.01 episode debating whether or not to turn Alex in. She'd even gave him an alibi. "You slipped in the rain. That's how you hurt your hand." But not everyone is sold on their story, especially given Alex's background. A juvie jerk from Iowa with a douchebag attitude is certainly high up on the list of suspects, after all.

Eventually selling the story didn't matter because Grey came to her senses and decided to turn Alex in, only to find he's beaten her to the punch (no pun intended). The guy turned himself in out of guilt and the two shared a bittersweet, poignant moment in prison.

"Grey's Anatomy" 13.02: Can Alex be saved from jail?

"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 Episode 2 titled "Catastrophe and the Cure" will see Alex going on trial for what he's done to Andrew. For sure, the Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital will be split between the two parties, though surely Grey herself will be taking her best friend's side.

Oh, and if you've missed Amelia and Owen from "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 premiere: they'll be hosting a dinner party for the next episode. New daddy Jackson, on the other hand, will be making arrangements for April's speedy recovery.

"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 Episode 2 will air on Sept. 29.
