Halo 5 Multiplayer Beta News, Update: Week 2 Will Get New Maps, Weapons and Modes

The Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta is already starting and will run until January 18, 2015. Although it's relatively a short time to test run the game, the guys from 343 Industries won't be holding back on more surprises for their beta testers.

Week 2 of the Halo 5: Guardians will be getting new maps, weapons, and modes, according to Gamespot.com.

Citing a report from Xbox Live Blog Update, the publication indicated two new maps, Regret and Eden, which will be added to the Slayer playlist.

Regret, an ideal map for a "straight-up fight" is based off the Truth, and Eden, featuring the Top Catwalk and Red Nest, is a remix of Empire – both said maps were included in the first week of the beta.

Halowaypoint.com meanwhile mentioned that there are now BR starts in the Slayer playlist.

There's also the Breakout multiplayer mode where Spartans will go into the battlefield with only one life. It is playable across two maps: Crossfire, a competitive paintball field-inspired map, and its variant, Trench, a focused combat environment. The first team to win five rounds wins the match.

Xbox Wire also mentioned the return of fan favorite weapons like the Battle Rifle, Magnum, Designated Marskman Rifle (DMR), Energy Sword, Sniper Rifle and the Submachine Gun. Fans should also watch out for the Light Rifle and the UNSC Hydra.

The website went on to say that there's still a lot more contents coming next week.
