Hank Hanegraaff recently commented on blasphemous remarks made by atheist talk show host Bill Maher regarding the story of Noah and the new film based on it.
On his show Real Time Maher called God a "psychopathic mass murderer who gets off by watching babies drown" while discussing the new film.
A caller phoned in to Hanegraaff's Bible Answer Man broadcast to ask his opinion on Maher's comments and the media's failure to report the offense committed by the pundit to religious people.
"I not only found it offensive, but I found it just perplexing that no news media outlets had said anything," said the caller regarding Maher's comments. "It's upsetting that talk show hosts can make a comment about a basketball team and they get fired, but somebody can step over the line this far and call our God a psychopathic mass murderer and nobody says anything."
Hanegraaff responded by discrediting Maher for his "limited mental acumen" and feels that Christians no longer acknowledge the pundit because he has made comments such as these for years "without ever thinking through them."
"Ultimately what we have to recognize is that the 'Bill Mahers' of this world are going to do what the 'Bill Mahers' [are] going to do because they are pagans," said Hanegraaff.
He also shared what he believes Christians could learn from Maher.
"What we need to recognize on the other side of the ledger is that we're Christians and often times we don't do for the truth what Bill Maher is willing to do for a lie, and because of that we're not ready to give an answer to the kinds of outrageous things that Bill Maher says," he said.
Hanegraaff's Bible Answer Man broadcast airs on Sirius XM and local radio stations on weekdays and rebroadcasts could be found at equip.org.
