'Hannibal' Season 3 Cast News, Spoilers, Update: Gillian Anderson Says Thriller is 'Too Dark' for Her
While the wait for the third season of "Hannibal" is still ongoing, recent reports concerning what the show will offer in its next chapter has been suggested by one of its cast members. Here's what we heard:
The Hollywood Reporter speaking with actor Gillian Anderson, who plays Hannibal's (Mads Mikkelsen) psychotherapist, Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier.
"Hannibal is too dark for me!" the 46-year-old actress said. "It is. If I'm going to watch some of my scenes, I need to have my finger on the fast-forward [button]. I literally am not that person."
Earlier reports pointed out Anderson and Mikkelsen shooting some scenes in Europe where they posed as a couple.
Fans might still have to hold their breath as Anderson's character is reported to appear in the subsequent parts of Season 3.
As suggested by numerous spoiler sites, Dr. Bedelia will be a recurring character in the third season of the psychological thriller. She could either make or break Lecter's journey.
Speaking about the Hannibal cast, the Emmy Award-winning actress also told THR how excited she was to be involved in the TV show.
"What I am interested in there is I know the genius of [showrunner] Bryan Fuller and how extraordinary it is, what they're creating in an artistic vein," Anderson explained. "And the opportunity to work with those three fine actors -- and also when you're offered Hannibal Lecter's psychiatrist, that's a difficult thing to say no to!"
As already reported, premiere date for "Hannibal" Season 3 has been moved by NBC to a summer opening.
