Harrison Ford has signed on for a role in "Anchorman: The Legend Continues." Reports state that he will play a veteran newscaster in the likes of Tom Brokaw counter to Will Ferrell's Ron Burgundy.

The movie is a continuation of the "Anchorman" series that starred Will Ferrell and was a smash success. Burgundy became another one of Ferrell's iconic characters with the likes of Ricky Bobby in "Talladega Nights" and, of course, his "Saturday Night Live" characters.

Ford has an exciting roster of films coming up this year. "Anchorman" will hit theaters in December of this year. Then Ford is slated to reprise his role of Han Solo in "Star Wars VII," which will be released next year.

"Anchorman 2" pairs Ford with Christina Applegate, Steve Carrell, Paul Rudd, John C. Reilly, James Marsden, and Kristen Wiig. The majority of the original cast decided to return, demonstrating the closeness of the cast and the fun they had working on it. The question is whether the sequel will be able to match the success of the original film.

It appears fans are excited to catch up with Ron Burgundy and company. The addition of Harrison Ford is news to their ears.

"Everybody stop what you're doing and listen… Harrison Ford is in 'Anchorman 2'" tweeted aledsavedlatin.

"'Anchorman: The Legend Continues' is definitely one of my most anticipated films of the year, bringing us a long-awaited return to the world of Ron Burgundy," wrote critic Kenji Lloyd. "Ford will be starring as a legendary newscaster figure in the upcoming sequel and I can't wait to see what he brings."

"He'll be hilarious. I like this," tweeted Chris Barnett.

"Harrison Ford is going to be in 'Anchorman 2.' Excellent," added John Michael Lowe.

Ford has previous experience playing a newscaster. In 2010 he starred alongside Diane Keaton in "Morning Glory," a film about two bickering newscasters.
