July 31 release dubbed as biggest publishing event of the summer with midnight parties planned everywhere.

Together with the release of the latest book of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter book series, the hysteria that went with it being the global phenomena that it has always been is also back.

The new book, titled Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, comes nineteen years after the publication of the first Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. More trivia –same book comes after the 8th book and 5 years after the most recent movie adapted from the book series.

Every Harry Potter fan would surely want to know when Harry Potter and the Cursed Child the book is released. It was announced that it is set to be released on July 31. Potter fans can go to different bookstores and join the book parties. The book will be released are revving up for midnight release parties where there will be games, quizzes, cauldron cakes and Butterbeer.

Book Based on Rehearsal Script of Play

The thing that makes the latest book from the rest is that it is based on the rehearsal script of the new stage play instead of being a standard novel like the rest before it. The West End production is already running at the Palace Theatre in London. Written by Rowling with Jack Thorne, the play will have its world premiere on July 30.It comes in two parts and audiences have the choice to watch it on the same day or on a different night.

The story is about Harry, now all grown up and joined the Ministry of Magic. He has a son now- Albus Severus Potter. It is said that Rowling decided to write a play with a Harry Potter theme back in 2012.

The official synopsis says: "It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn't much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband, and father of three school-age children."

The youngest son, Albus, struggles with the weight of his family's legacy which he never wanted. Harry meanwhile cannot seem to leave the past where it should be and together, father and son, discovers the uncomfortable truth that "sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places."

Having Record Sales Ahead of Release

Already, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is already breaking records ahead of its release. It is the top pre-order for both Amazon and Barnes & Noble. That was the same spot occupied by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in 2007. A spokesperson from Barnes & Noble said in a statement that they expect it to be their biggest selling book of the year.

Despite expected record sales, its U.S. book publisher, Scholastic, has printed only 4.5 million copies for the North American market. This is below the copies of the previous books that have topped 8.3 million books sold in the first 24 hours of release.

Still, Scholastic expects the release on July 31, which coincides with Rowling's birthday, to be the biggest publishing event of the summer.
