One Direction singer Harry Styles reportedly had to pass a test conducted by Kris Jenner before he was permitted to date her daughter Kendall.
The British pop star, 19, began dating the reality TV star, 18, in November after the pair were introduced by their managers. A new report claims Styles had to meet specific criteria at Kris' request prior to taking Kendall our on a romantic date.
"To date one of the Jenner sisters you have to meet up with Kris Jenner, and she must give her 100 percent blessing," a source told HollywoodLife.com.
"She wants major success for Kylie and Kendall because they are the future of the Kardashian paychecks," the source continued. "And where most guys meet the parents of a girl they date eventually, its normal protocol in the Kardashian household that anyone that is about to date them must provide something more than just compatibility emotionally."
Styles, who rose to stardom in 2010 when 1D was formed, has already experienced great success with his bandmates as they are one of the highest-selling boy bands in the world. His fame status and lucrative income were reportedly taken into account when Kris, 58, decided to let him date Kendall – who is also a model.
"They need to be famous and in the current limelight," the insider explained of Kris' dating rules for her daughters.
"They must be a big deal to get the sisters the media they thrive on and that is why Harry Styles was a set up at first," the source explained.
Kendall's younger sister Kylie, 16, is reportedly also subject to the same criteria when it comes to her dating life. The outspoken teen has previously been linked to the likes of actor Jaden Smith and singer Cody Simpson to name a few.
"Its all about the Kardashian brand, and Kendall and Kylie have bought into it and use relationships as career builders more than anything else," the source revealed.
"This was one major issue when it came to Kris and Bruce's marriage -- Bruce wanted them to have a more normal life but he is outnumbered, and they want to be like Kim and will do anything Kris says to make it happen," the insider went on. "Its like they are robots."
