Hilary Duff Has Baby Boy

Hilary Duff, best known for her role as a lovable pre-teen on the Disney Channels "Lizzie McGuire," is now a mom. This past Tuesday, March 20, the singer-actress gave birth to a seven-pound, six-ounce baby boy named Luca Cruz Cormie. It is the 24-year-old's first child.

"We are overjoyed and feel like the luckiest parents in the world," Duff tweeted yesterday.

Duff's husband, and happy new father, is 31-year-old Mike Cormie. Born in Edmonton, Canada, Cormie played professional hockey for the Ottawa Senators, but has recently retired, The Washington Post reports. Duff and Cormie were married in Aug. 2010.

How will baby Luca affect Duff's career? In December, the singer-actress told Us Weekly that she anticipated taking some time off.

"I think that after I have the baby I'll want to sit still for a few months and learn how to be a really good mom," the singer/actress told the magazine in December. "And then there's no reason why I can't put a record out and tour... It might take a little while but I'm really excited about it."

The former Disney star was very public and open about her pregnancy experience, often tweeting jovially.

"When I get up, my massively pregnant morning walk looks like a 'walker' from 'The Walking Dead' #cmooooon BABY," she tweeted on Friday, March 16.

The actress also released a few viral videos with Funny or Die. The first is entitled "Hilary Duff's Pregnancy Secrets." It is a commercial parody for a fake product to help with increased hair growth, a side effect some woman experience when pregnant. Sporting a fake mustache, Duff acts as the spokesperson for this fake product, dubbed "NoGro Active."

The 24-year-old star also released a video called "Behind the Scene of Hilary Duff Pregnancy Secrets," in which she extolls comical advice on having the perfect celebrity baby.

Duff clearly had fun with her pregnancy, and according to her tweets, it seems like Duff is having just as much fun now that the baby is here.

"[Luca] is surrounded by so much love!! Mom and baby are both doing extremely well," she recently tweeted.
