'Hitman' DLC Release Date: IO Interactive Teases New Content That Is Not Season 2

New downloadable content (DLC) is coming to the hit episodic stealth game "Hitman" this month, but it not something players are expecting.

In the latest post on the official website of the title, publisher IO Interactive teased the big reveal of this brand new content on Oct. 24:

We're going to let the announcement itself do all the talking, but there is one thing we want to clarify before then; this upcoming content is not Season 2. We're saying that now to keep expectations in check.

The reveal came with a teaser image embedded above showing a man from behind with his arms up in front of something blazing. Everything was blurred out for added obscurity though.

This is just the one of many things Square Enix and IO Interactive have in store for "Hitman." Before the announcement of new DLC, a whole host of new features will be added on to the game first on Oct. 13.

This includes 10 new Featured Contracts that will put the spotlight on the "interesting, clever or creative" ones. To be included, gamers should make sure their work has attention-getting elements.

The new Master Scarecrow Challenge Pack will also be released on "Hitman" on the game day, finally taking players to Colorado. As IO Interactive teases:

Look forward to 5 new challenges, each with a high amount of location mastery; a great way to top out your mastery and collect any remaining unlocks. Completing all of the challenges will unlock a new item for 47 to use in all locations. We'll reveal more about this Challenge Pack and the new item next week.

Later in the month, "Hitman" will then see the arrival of 10 more Featured Contracts, this time curated by a player named Hatch, a British speedrunner who plays the game on PlayStation 4 (PS4) "in search of unique routes on fun contracts."
