Holly Holm News: Bantamweight Champion Has A Condition For Rematch With Ronda Rousey

Current UFC bantamweight queen Holly Holm is willing to give former champion Ronda Rousey a title rematch, but under one condition.

"The Preacher's Daughter" was able to pull off the unthinkable at the time when she knocked out Rousey in the second round of their main event bout at UFC 193 on November 15, in front of 56,000 fans at the Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia.

The said event was historical in more ways than one, particularly for Holm, who was able to deal Rousey her first defeat in her almost five-year professional career.

An immediate rematch was initially planned between Rousey and Holm, but a lengthy post-fight medical suspension, along with various celebrity obligations, has kept Rousey on the sidelines further. Instead, the UFC will have Holm fighting two-time title contender Miesha Tate and both women are now co-headlining UFC 197, which will take place on March 5 in Las Vegas.

Expectedly, Holm is continuously being hounded by questions related to Rousey during media obligations. Recently, at the UFC 197 pre-fight press conference (transcribed by MMA Fighting), she was once again asked about the rematch.

Holm had this to say in response.

"If she doesn't want to fight, I don't want to watch her fight. I don't want to watch a fighter get in there that's not passionate about it," Holm said.

Over the past year alone, Rousey appeared in two feature films: the seventh installment of the "Fast & Furious" series and the silver screen rendition of HBO hit series "Entourage".

She is currently filming a remake of the 1980's cult classic "Road House," in which she holds the starring role.

Rousey's extra-curricular activities outside of fighting have led Holm to believe that the interest and passion may have faded. This is what she has made to be the main reason for having a condition affecting her rematch with "Rowdy."

"I would rather meet someone in the cage when they're passionate about it," Holm said.
