'House of Cards' Season 3 Cast News: Cast Members Mourn Death of Elizabeth Norment
While the hit Netflix original political thriller has yet to hit the small screens around February 2015, news related to the show and its cast is rather sad as it has been reported that one cast member passed away.
On Oct. 13, actress Elizabeth Norment died at the age of 61 at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, CNN reported.
Norment's agent Dianne Busch confirmed the passing of the actress to NBC News. No further details were given at that time.
The Huffington Post meanwhile stated in their report that upon the release of the information, "HoC" executive producer Beau Willimon said in a statement that, "everyone at 'House of Cards' is deeply saddened by Elizabeth's passing. She was a talented actress, a warm soul and a good friend to us all."
Norment's co-star and lead actor of the said show, Kevin Spacey, later took to his social media to leave his condolences.
"RIP Elizabeth Norment. We all loved her and she leaves a void in all of us here at HoC's," he tweeted.
MRC, the studio producer of the TV program, also released a statement.
"Elizabeth Norment was a talented actress with a beautiful spirit who touched the entire House of Cards family. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends," they wrote.
The veteran actress was known for her role in "House of Cards" as President Frank Underwood's (Spacey) secretary Nancy Kaufberger.
She also played a role as Judge Arlene Brewer on a hit legal drama TV series from ABC, "Law and Order."
Norment's TV appearances would also include programs like "ER," "St. Elsewhere," "Party of Five" and
"Blue Bloods."
