Not many would have thought the Texans would still have to be playing for something at this stage of the season, and would have wrapped everything up long ago. However, two defeats in their past three games means they still need a win today to clinch a playoff bye and home field throughout.
The game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream via the link provided below.
The Texans will be motivated today; even though they have already clinched the AFC South divisional title, a playoff bye is nothing to be scoffed at and a win today would provide a much clearer path to a potential Super Bowl game.
However, they are on the road against the Indianapolis Colts, who have shocked everyone this season. Standing in second in the AFC South division on 10-5, many had been predicting for weeks that the Colts' good form would finally come to an end and that they would fall away from playoff contention. But not only have they already clinched a playoff spot, they have played some great football to get there.
Colts' coach Church Pagano will be on the sidelines on Sunday and is sure to get a rapturous applause. Having completed his cancer treatment he can now enjoy the run in to the regular season and marvel at what his team has accomplished this year.
Regardless of the playoff bye up for grabs for the Texans, they may be more concerned about their form going into the postseason. Their sudden downturn of form could not have come at a worse time, and in the past three weeks they have fallen heavily to both the New England Patriots 14-42, and then the Minnesota Vikings last week 6-23.
They will be hoping to put out a confidence-building performance today to come out of their funk before the playoffs get underway.
