'How to Get Away With Murder' Season 2 News, Cast: Annalise's Shooter Revealed

Earlier this season in "How to Get Away With Murder," a scene showed Annalise, played by Viola Davis, lying on the ground after being shot. This triggered the main question that plagued the rest of the episodes — who shot Annalise?

The answer to the big question is none other than Wes and the big reveal happened in the recently aired midseason finale. The episode showed the capabilities of each character when pushed beyond their limits, and apparently, murder came quite easy for a few, including Wes and Asher. The episode revealed that Annalise was shot the ultimate result after a domino effect in a series of events starting with DA Sinclair.

According to the recap by Entertainment Weekly, it all started when DA Sinclair revealed Asher's involvement in the lake house to his father. This was apparently too much for Mr. Millstone and the possible embarrasment has led him to commit suicide. Asher was distraught and his mother only made things worse by blaming him. When Asher confronted Sinclair, she offered no comfort or apologies and even went as far as bad-mouthing his deceased father. This was the last straw for Asher because as soon as Sinclair went out of Asher's car to walk off, he ran her over.

Asher then called Bonnie for help, and the two sought Annalise for help. When Connor refused to be part of another murder, Annalise reeled him in by revealing to Asher about their involvement with Sam's death, which Annalise knows will ultimately tie everyone together. Annalise then comes up with a plan to cover up Sinclair's death. She turned to her four students to do the job, but despite goading Connor, Michaela, and Lauren to do it, all of them refused. Annalise knew that it was up to Wes who initially did not want to do it as well. Annalise then revealed the death of Rebecca, which finally pushed Wes to shoot her.

Fans are on the edge of their seats to know what the next episodes will unfold as "How to Get Away With Murder" returns on Feb. 11, 2016.
