'How To Get Away With Murder' Season 3 News, Updates, Spoilers, Recap: Laurel Finally Meets Her Father, But Lies About Frank To Annalise

Fans ought to concern themselves with only two things from the latest "How to Get Away With Murder" (HTGAWM) Season 3 Episode 3. First: The show has finally introduced its audiences to Papa Castillo (Esai Morales), Laurel's (Karla Souza) super wealthy yet extremely dangerous father. Second: Viewers learned that Bonnie (Liza Weil), is the second survivor of the house fire.

Laurel's meeting with her father

In a bid to find out Frank's (Charlie Weber) whereabouts, HTGAWM 3.03 saw Laurel traveling to Miami to see her father, who is also an executive to a multibillion-dollar telecommunications company. It's an open secret that Laurel hated her father, who had caused her a great deal of emotional distress when she was a child, but given his connections, she had to enlist his help.

But things had quickly taken a turn for the worse for Laurel, who found that her father had gotten a mediator to handle their disputes. Outraged, Laurel set loose a slew of shocking revelations from her childhood to explain her hatred for her father: when her mother started suffering from mental breakdowns, her father had abandoned their family. Far worse, Laurel had been kidnapped when she was 16, and her father refused to pay the ransom.

Later on, her father revealed that he knew where Frank is, but not before telling Laurel that she is too good for him and that she shouldn't waste any more time with him. He promised to exchange the information on his whereabouts in exchange for Laurel agreeing to be part of the new business venture. She agreed, and learned that Frank is outside Pittsburgh. However, when Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) asked her if she'd pried out the information from her father, Laurel simply lied and said no.

Loyal, but desperate

In an interview with Variety, Karla Souza said her (Laurel's) decision to agree to her father's demands in HTGAWM's latest episode is because Laurel was essentially loyal. She's also increasingly desperate, and is trying to take matters into her own hands.

Souza also hinted that her character had kept Frank's location a secret not out of betrayal to Annalise Keating, but because she knew that her father was bugging her phone, which means he knows she's trying to contact Frank. This will soon pose a dilemma in HTGAWM Season 3 as she's unlikely to be able to catch Frank on her own.

HTGAWM 3.04: Don't tell Annalise

Meanwhile, Bonnie is revealed to be alive and well during the final moments of HTGAWM 3.03, joining Oliver (Conrad Ricamora) among the living bodies. But the ending also revealed another body found in Annalise Keating's house - only this time, the body still has a pulse.

Spoilers are also out for "How to Get Away With Murder" Season 3 Episode 4, titled "Don't tell Annalise." The official synopsis revealed that Frank will be committing a "shocking act" that someone close to him has to deal with, while the Philadelphia Bar Association disciplinary board uncovers "damaging" information about Annalise.
