HP TouchPad Receives JellyBean with CyanogenMod10
CyanogenMod10 is now available for the HP TouchPad tablet.
The ROM brings Android 4.1, JellyBean, the software that comes stock on this summer's hottest device, to what was arguably last summer's most demanded electronic.
It allows HP TouchPad users to perform basic tasks on the tablet while running JellyBean, however, sound and video acceleration do not work, according to those who have downloaded it.

The camera and built-in microphone also do not function with the software and many applications will force close when they are launched. Google Now seems to work with the software and a video has been released showing JellyBean functioning on the TouchPad.
HP released this tablet last year and quickly discontinued it in the summer after retailers were reporting that it did not sell.
The company slashed the price of the 16GB model to $99 and held a fire sale, unloading its entire inventory. After the discount, the HP TouchPad became extremely rare as everyone started buying them up due to the low price.
The TouchPad fire sale made headlines and lasted until the fall, when HP seemed to finally run out of stock. By that time, companies such as Amazon took a cue from this low-priced tablet phenomenon and launched one of the first $199 tablets, the Kindle Fire.
The TouchPad's fire sale ultimately pointed to a new market for tablet manufacturers such as Google and Amazon who since that time have released low-priced devices that are stealing market share from Apple's iPad. Despite many failed attempts by electronics companies, HP was the first to spark the interest of many and lead to the first real competition for Apple.
Without the TouchPad fire sale, the tablet market could look completely different today.
