HTC Nexus 9 Specs, Release Date: Android Slate Gets Price Cut in the UK

Google announced its Nexus devices during the final quarter of 2014, but the Nexus 9 slate pricing has been steeper than most of its previous devices.

Fortunately, after several months, the Android powered tablet is a bit cheaper in the U.K., retailing for only 199.99 British Pounds. The price is for the 16GB edition with only the Wi-Fi feature, but that is still pretty cheap compared to its previous price tag of around 399.99 just a few months back.

Meanwhile, the 32GB option is now priced at 299.99, 100 pounds cheaper than its original price tag. In the report, interested consumers can only avail of the pick-up only option from PCWorld, since the discounted slates are not available for home delivery.

In the report, the Nexus 9 from HTC has not met Google's expectations in terms of sales, which could be the reason why it is allowing some price cuts.

Announced last year, the HTC Nexus 9 boasts an 8.9-inch IPS LCD display with 2048 x 1546 resolution, an NVIDIA Tegra K1 chipset, dual-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, and either a 16GB or 32GB option for built-in storage. The former is Wi-Fi only, while the latter supports LTE connectivity.

Other notable specs include a Kepler DX1 GPU, an 8MP primary camera and 1.2MP front shooter, and a massive 6,700mAh battery.

On the other hand, the Nexus 6 from Motorola has been doing pretty well, mainly due to the fact that the manufacturer is performing well overall in the market.
