HTC One A9 Review: An Android-Powered iPhone 6 That's $250 Cheaper

The HTC One A9 reviews are saying the new smartphone is just like an Android-powered iPhone 6, only $250 cheaper than the Apple device.

One of the most noticeable things about the HTC One A9 is its eerie similarity to the iPhone 6. From the polycarbonate antenna bands to the general shape, the HTC device indeed looks like the Apple smartphone, according to ZD Net.

The new sub-flagship HTC smartphone has a unibody aluminum body with Gorilla Glass protection. It is slim and light, and is made to look sleek with its high-quality materials, Information Week reports.

The technique of inserting polycarbonate bands for antenna insulation was first used by HTC in 2013, and then Apple copied it the following year. As for the flat back of the device, it is something new for HTC since the previous One models all featured curved backs to make way for added internal components, plus it provides a more comfortable hand grip. The HTC One A9, however, now features a flat back, like what the iPhone has, the report details.

Even the rounded aluminum edges of the HTC One A9 lend a feel similar to the iPhone 6. The round camera with raised edge is also identical to the one in the Apple device. But the external similarities stop there.

When it comes to the BoomSound speaker position, the HTC One A9 opted to position them on the front side. The iPhone 6 speakers are mounted at the bottom side of the device, the report adds.

The HTC One A9 is the first Android smartphone next to Nexus that runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. The device also comes with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage that is expandable via microSD slot. It features a 5-inch screen with full-HD resolution and has a fingerprint sensor at the front.

For a limited time, the HTC One A9 can be pre-ordered from the HTC website for only $399.99. The device is available only in the opal silver and carbon gray variants. HTC will later on launch the deep garnet and topaz gold variants of its new smartphone.
