HTC One M10 News: HTC One M10 Promises Better Camera

In the smartphone industry these days, it is common knowledge that Taiwanese multinational company HTC has not been performing very well in the past year or so, with the mediocre sales of its latest flagship, the HTC One M9, as well as the controversy it got mired in when they were accused by Apple that they copied the iPhone's design with its HTC One A9. The company however may be trying its hand to make a comeback with its upcoming flagship, the HTC One M10.

According to a Forbes report, recent leaks about the device point to one big change it is planning to make with the HTC One M10 and it has to do with equipping it with a bigger and better-performing camera. The report cites a leak from known tipster Evan Blass who is said to have seen a prototype model in action.

According to the leak, the device is said to have a 1,440 by 2,560 pixel display, which is also said to be using AMOLED technology. Under the hood, it is said to sport the latest Qualcomm chipset, the Snapdragon 820, which comes with an Adreno 530 GPU and is paired with 4 GB of RAM. Internal storage is said to be at 32 GB and comes with expandable memory support through a microSD card slot.

The report also noted that the upcoming device may be equipped with a better camera, better than the camera on the HTC One M9, which has been noted to fare poorly against the cameras on other flagships of its time. According to Blass, the HTC One M10 will have a 12 megapixel main rear-facing camera with Ultrapixel technology that was earlier used in the HTC One M7 camera. The HTC One M10 camera will also come with laser autofocus and optical image stabilization.

The Forbes report speculated that if HTC will combine Ultrapixel technology with higher resolution, it will result in better image quality. It also said that the sensor might also be paired with a fast, wide aperture lens.

According to a Tech Times report, the One M10 will also sport a fingerprint scanner and will come pre-installed with Android 6.1 Marshmallow with HTC's Sense 8.0 UI. The BoomSound speakers, which were a signature feature of HTC phones, will sadly be taken out of the One M10.
