HTC One (M9) Hima Release Date, Specs Rumors: Recent Leaks Nothing But 'Decoys'?

Rumors about HTC's upcoming flagship offering, the purported HTC One (M9), sometimes called HTC Hima, have been going around the tech news for quite a while now.

For each scoop there are a number of images apparently showing a new HTC smartphone. But this recent article from PhoneArena.com seems to suggest that fans of the anticipated device should expect more than what has been shown by these tipsters.

In their article, the tech website said that the photographs of the alleged smartphone are nothing but "decoys" which "do not accurately represent the final design of the HTC One (M9)."

Citing their source, Phone Arena however noted that those decoys do have the correct internal parts of the HTC One (M8) successor.

"This news should bring hope to those who were criticizing HTC for using the same design employed for the HTC One (M8) for its new flagship model," the site said.

Furthermore, their sources who have the knowledge about "the real look" of the next HTC One smartphone said that it will arrive with an "edge-to-edge screen" and will also feature with "BoomSound slits" found on the top and bottom edges of the gizmo. This is contrary to the previously hinted "sound grills."

The site also noted that using decoys is not a new thing with HTC. The Taiwan-based tech giant previously used a different prototype to introduce the then upcoming HTC One (M7).

Needless to say, any official announcements and information about the HTC One (M9) will apparently be showcased in the forthcoming 2015 MWC event which is scheduled to be held on March 1 in Barcelona.
