HTC One M9 Hima Release Date, Specs and Features Rumors: Launching at MWC 2015?

HTC has done well with its current flagship phone, the HTC One M8. Now, tech fans are wondering when the follow up to the device, the HTC One M9, is going to be released. Will it be as impressive and as spec-heavy as the M8? Will it come with a few surprises? And will the next generation device be strong enough to go head to head with tech heavyweights, such as the equally anticipated iPhone 7 and Samsung Galaxy S6?

Several rumors have come up regarding the M9. Industry insider @upleaks has reported that HTC will no longer be using its M codenames. It says that rather than the M9, HTC's next flagship phone will be known as "Hima." It was also reported that the phone will carry the tagline "One Life."

Photos leaked by NoWhereElse reportedly show the HTC One M9, and the images, which have now been removed, show that the M9 bears a striking resemblance to its predecessor, except for its rear-facing camera which has a square shape rather than round. It's rumored that the phone will be extremely slim at a mere 7mm.

The HTC Hima is rumored to come with a 5-inch 1080p Super LCD3 display and a 2.0GHz octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor with 3GB of RAM. The phone is expected to be available in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB storage options.

Early rumors suggest that the HTC Hima would have a 13MP front-facing shooter and a 20.7MP rear camera. However, LlabTooFer reports that there will be a single 20MP camera, which will reportedly be a Toshiba T4KA7 sensor.

The HTC One M9 "Hima" is expected to be launched in MWC 2015, which will take place from March 2 to 5, 2015. The phone is expected to retail at $750 to $920 off contract.
